All SASC competitive teams are required to supply at least one adult referee who will work at least five games per season for the club. This is the only class we will be offering in Sunnyvale until August and it will fill up fast, so please pass this information on to all your team Moms and Dads who you think would make good refs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why should you become a Referee???

  • Being a Referee builds self-esteem and self-confidence.
  • It's a great way to stay in shape.
  • It's fun.
  • You get to watch the game from the best seat in the house.
  • It improves your game by giving you an insight into what Referees are looking for and how they make decisions.
  • It prevents you, the parent/coach/player, from looking silly by yelling at a ref for no good reason.
  • It gives you more to talk about around the dinner table than "How was school?"
  • It's a great way to give back to the community.
  • You KNOW you can do a better job than THAT bozo!
  • We desperately need more adult Referees!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

All SASC class 1 and class 3 competitive team head coaches are encouraged to obtain a Grade 8 Referee certification, even if you never work a game.  In addition, each comp. team is required to provide at least one working adult referee to help ensure proper coverage of all games.
