Sunnyvale Soccer Complex Usage Guidelines
Usage of Sunnyvale Soccer Complex (SSC) is a privilege and a responsibility. We need to work together to share the space and look after it. As it costs us a great deal of money and effort to maintain, and space there is very popular, we will be forced to relocate your practices and games if your team is regularly forgetful of the rules.

Security and Safety

Gates: If you are the last team there, you must ensure that ALL gates are locked. If a lock is missing, or a gate is damaged email me at vicepresident@sunnyvalesoccerclub.org so we can get it repaired. During the last week, gates have been left unlocked 2 of 5 nights.

Goals: Goals may NEVER be used with out being staked down, not even for 'just a minute'. This includes practices. There is a mallet in the Knack box if the ground is hard and it is is difficult to get the stakes in. If a goal is missing a stake, email me at vicepresident@sunnyvalesoccerclub.org so it can be repaired. You must put away all goals after using them. Goals are stored face in against a fence. Goals left on the field encourage kids to hop the fence and expose the goals to sprinkler damage. Do not leave a goal out because you found it that way. If a team is on the field after you, ask if they want you to leave it out or put it away.

Sharing of Space

You are responsible for knowing what field you are assigned and where it is. If you are unsure, or see a better arrangement because of teams that work together for example, talk to the other coaches involved and jointly email the Field Director to request a rearrangement.

Do try to stay helpful and flexible, we have an ever larger number of teams we are trying to accommodate, lets help each other out.

Each practice location has ONE goal. . If you are using two goals, you are probably shorting another team. If you arrive, and a team is using two goals, and one is not available for you, please ask nicely for the second goal. We do have a couple of sets of extra goals, but we do not have enough goals for every team practicing to have two. Also do not assume a older team will happily use a small goal just because you took the other large goal!

If you wish to have a scrimmage at your practice time, with a team you are not already sharing a field with, you must set it up in advance by talking with the impacted coaches. It's pretty easy to rearrange for one night if you have notice. It is not nice to have to move your practice after you've already set up. Talk to the impacted the coaches the week before please. If you don't already have your nearby coaches email addresses, you can find them on our website, but better yet go over and introduce yourself and get their contact info!

Wear and Tear

Do not set goals in the goal box on the goal line except in games. Goal boxes sustain a great deal of damage during the season, do not use them for practice.

Ladders have also caused damage at SSC. If you are using them, you must MOVE them regularly. Be smart, move them to the side. every few minutes. I can show you three areas with regularly spaced dead spots from ladders used during preseason team camps, these will likely last through the entire fall season.

Scheduled Games

All game schedules (regular season, preseason, friendly scrimmages etc) go through Julie Banks, no exceptions. All weekend field use goes through the Field Director.

If you are the first game of the day on that field you will have to set up. If there is no team warming up after your game you will have to put the field away, by storing the goals and corner flags.

Fields have goal line marks to show where the goals go. Ensure they are staked down.

Corner flags are in the unlocked Knack box beside the shed. There is also a mallet there in case the ground is hard and it is difficult to get the goal stakes in the ground.

Some of the fields have two sets of markings. If the team before you is not of the same age group, you may need to move the goals and corner flags to the correct sized field for your team.

Maintaining a Clean Facility

There are convenient garbage and recycle cans located at the exit gates. There is no excuse for leaving the field a mess after your teams use. After every game or practice make your players pick up any garbage in the space they've used. Please have your teams pickup after themselves, these fields represent our club, teams and us as individuals.

Parking

Please remind your parents that there is no parking or drop off in the far right lot past the dumpsters before 6 pm. This is a school play yard until that time.

Dogs
Are well loved but never allowed inside the fence at SSC. Please politely ask any dogs to leave immediately.

Working together we can make the best use of our investments of our player's money in SSC and it's associated equipment and maintenance costs.
