  Sunnyvale Soccer Classes

SASC is pleased to announce our Sunnyvale Soccer classes for Spring 2024.

Sunnyvale Soccer is a series of soccer classes tailored for beginner 4 and 5 year-old boys and girls. Using a player-centric approach, the program will focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Within this "discovery phase" players will be encouraged to explore movement with and without the ball through basic ball manipulation and fundamental movement skills. With a focus on "me and my ball" and "me and my friends," participants will be introduced to activities incorporating parallel and associative play. The program is designed as an entry level step on the pathway to entering our recreational and competitive games-based programs.

The classes are led by our Director of Coaching, Andrew Ransome, with an emphasis on inclusion, participation and fun.

These co-ed classes will be held on Wednesdays from 4:15pm to 4:55pm.

SASC Senior Night 2023

On Thursday, May 18th, we recognized our 2023 graduating seniors with our traditional send-off game against the SASC coaches.

In a tight, hard-fought game held at The Kings Academy stadium, a huge crowd saw the coaches take an early lead, then the seniors fought back to equalize and eventually took the score to 4-2 for the win.

Video of the game highlights is available here. Full game video is here.

Coach Tim was the winner(?) of the pie-in-the-face popularity contest after the game.

Congratulations to the Seniors and good luck in the future!

Many thanks to all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to put the event together:
  • Nassrin Sleiman and Lorena Casas for coordinating the event with the senior families
  • Kitlyn Seto for organizing the half-time challenges
  • Matt Kixmoeller for the fantastic photographs (Complete album available here)
  • Dave Hwang for the video and editing the game
  • Luis Quej for providing the sound equipment
  • Kutay, Metin and Dana for refereeing the game
  • The 07B team provided a concession to raise money

Meanwhile, on the Recreational side of the club, we say goodbye to some more seniors that have been with us for many years (shown below with their Coach Ben Chen, who is also retiring after 13 years coaching with us - Thanks Coach!).

SASC Club Day at the San Jose Earthquakes vs. LAFC

On May 6th, SASC partnered with the San Jose Earthquakes to have our annual SASC Club Day at the Quakes.

Over 650 SASC members and friends attended this huge event held at Levi's Stadium.

Some lucky SASC players participated in on-field experiences - including 12 flag kids and 50 more holding the US flag on the center circle.

The game itself was very exciting with the Quakes taking the win with a late PK.

Many thanks to Michael Ng for organizing the event for us. Go Quakes!
